About Nhava Sheva (JNPT)
Nhava Sheva, formally Jawaharlal Nehru Port, sits across the harbour from Mumbai and handles the largest share of India's container trade. It serves the Maharashtra industrial belt directly and connects inland by rail towards Delhi and the north. A great deal of its cargo is stuffed and cleared at inland container depots rather than at the quay, which means the depot cut-off and the port cut-off are different dates.
First Base Freight handles both import and export cargo through Nhava Sheva (JNPT) — inbound from any country and outbound to any country. Indicative sea transit on our the UK lane is 22–28 days; transit on any other routing is confirmed at quote stage. For rates, container options and the wider India lane, including air freight and customs clearance, see the country page — or request a quote for this port.
