Founded in 2011, First Base Freight has grown from a single UK trade lane into a UK-based agent arranging shipments from any country to any country, across 120+ ports worldwide.
Our story
First Base Freight started as a small team booking container space out of Felixstowe for local manufacturers. As those customers grew into exporters — and then into importers sourcing from half a dozen markets — we grew with them, adding air freight, in-house customs brokerage, and direct carrier and agent relationships across Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Africa and Oceania.
Today we are still a the UK-based company, but the network is not: we move tens of thousands of shipments a year on lanes that often never touch the UK at all — China to the United States, Germany to Canada, India to Australia — with the same account manager on every booking.
