About Santos
Santos is the largest container port in Latin America and serves São Paulo, Brazil's industrial and commercial centre, a short distance inland up a steep coastal escarpment. It handles containers alongside very substantial agricultural bulk exports. Brazilian import formalities are document-heavy and unforgiving of mismatches between the invoice, packing list and bill of lading.
First Base Freight handles both import and export cargo through Santos — inbound from any country and outbound to any country. Indicative sea transit on our the UK lane is 20–26 days; transit on any other routing is confirmed at quote stage. For rates, container options and the wider Brazil lane, including air freight and customs clearance, see the country page — or request a quote for this port.
